Qualifications
NOTE: You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
To qualify for the GS-14 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level defined as providing advisory services, conducting projects, and preparing and analyzing policies to senior level managers and the advisory committee area.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of management principles to develop and coordinate activities leading to recommendations
Ability to analyze environmental policy issues, programs and projects and private sector operations
Skill in oral communication
Ability to identify key data, information, and expertise, and to propose alternative policy and legislative approaches
Skill in written communication
Ability to assist and advise very senior and private sector officials on policy and program management issues and approaches
Ability to analyze issues and available information and to compile and organize information in readily understandable forms
Knowledge and advanced understanding of federal advisory committee operations and the interrelationships with other program and support functions
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
