The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Division Quality Assurance Section lead, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over quality assurance personnel and processes assigned to the Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division.

Duties

DUTY 1: Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of AFLCMC/HNC, ensuring that CCSD complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. DUTY 2: Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities. DUTY 3: Represents the Quality Assurance section with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. DUTY 4: Complies with all established rules and AF policies. Supports all management policies and procedures, including working overtime when required to meet workload requirements.

  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
  • Unexpected overtime may be required occasionally.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Quality Assurance Series1910, in conjunction with the Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Administrative and Management Positions.***Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level*** This is a GG-13 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-13 duties for the "Supervision/Management" work category are at the "Senior" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: demonstration of applied knowledge in monitoring, controlling, or maintaining the quality of products or services in quality assurance, inspection, production, or related areas. Examples include reviewing production activities and capabilities in light of contract quality requirements, reviewing written quality or inspection procedures for adequacy, and evaluating the implementation and effectiveness of quality/inspection systems, acquisition systems, analyzing quality data to detect unsatisfactory trends or weaknesses; plan, organize, and preparing reports or charts depicting pertinent relationships using statistical methods; investigating customer complaints and deficiency reports, and providing identification of causes to appropriate authorities; reading, interpreting, and reviewing and evaluating supply systems operations and procedures through periodic audits and surveillance inspections; applied security practices for ensuring the safeguarding of classified information; directing the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Comprehensive knowledge of quality assurance principles, practices, and procedures. Thorough knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources. Ability to communicate proficiently both orally and in writing. Knowledge of security practices for ensuring the safeguarding of classified information. Working knowledge of manufacturing and repair processes in branches where maintenance is performed. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
