The primary purpose of this UNIT TRAINING MANAGER NH-0301-02 position is to serve as the 75 FSS level point of contact for training management to: plan, organize, administer, standardize, and schedule employees for various education and training events. Use various approved Learning Management Systems (LMSs) and implementation of training plans is required.

Duties

Organizes, plans, evaluates, coordinates, and schedules training. Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the organization, ensuring that manpower, personnel, force development/education and training related operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs. Participates in special manpower, personnel, force development/education and training related operation projects and initiatives and performs special assignments. Represents the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Provides support to the Tinker AFB Mortuary Affairs.

  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - The work is primarily sedentary. May require some walking, standing, bending, carrying and/or lifting of light items such as paper or books. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT - The work is performed in a typical office setting, requiring the use of normal safety precautions necessary for an office environment. The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated.
  • Personal data, to which the incumbent has access, is controlled by the Privacy Act of 1974 and must be safeguarded appropriately.
  • May be required to work on special projects as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have, or within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement will have, at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience which is equivalent to Federal experience at the next lower grade (GS-04), level, pay band (NH-01), or equivalent (pay schedule, pay band, etc). Specialized experience is described as: assist with evaluating current organizational strategies and performance by applying the organizations mission and function; understand and aid in the deployment of lean concepts in problem resolution; interpret and apply regulations, methods, operating procedures, and policies, as well as assist in developing methods and operating procedures as required. OR EDUCATION: Applicants must have successfully completed 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Applicants must have equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school and experience directly related to the work of the position as outlined above that meets the requirements of the position. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and/or strategic sourcing. Knowledge of organizational concepts, principles, and practices as related to the requirements for performance-based logistics, acquisition, supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with accuracy, and maintain good working relations with all individuals and organizations. Ability to work with, lead, and manage various groups or individuals to resolve difficult problems/situations as related to organizational issues. Skill in interpreting and applying complex DOD, USAF, AFMC, and AFSC regulations, methods, operating procedures, and policies, as well as developing methods and operating procedures as required. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
