About the Position: This is a Testing Clerk, GS-0303-05, position with the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS), Support Group Military Entrance Processing Station Located at Boston, Massachusettes.

Duties

Conduct aptitude and qualification examinations at the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) and Military Entrance Test (MET) sites for the applicants of the various Armed Services. Scores enlistment and high school tests using automated and non-automated methods. Briefs applicants, distributes and proctors' examinations, scores exams, performs quality control of examination and applicable applicant information. Send results to appropriate personnel and performs data entry of results and information into the appropriate accession reporting system. Answer e-mail queries from recruiters, liaisons, applicants, school representatives, and personnel.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must possess or have ability to obtain a driver's license.
  • Cross-trains in other functions of the MEPS (such as processing) and performs these functions as required.
  • Handles accountable test material.
  • Position requires conducting test sessions at remote sites, to include administration of high school tests at inner city, rural, and/or at-risk schools with large populations (greater than 100 students).
  • Occasional evening and weekend work is required (if the MEPS conducts night testing, this work will entail night shift work when the Test Clerk is the only employee in the building).
  • Evenings (if applicable): 1130-2000, Saturdays: 0530-1430, Sundays (if applicable): 1400-2000, Morning Opening Shift: 0530–1430.
  • Frequent local travel and occasional temporary duty (TDY) business travel may be required (may require hotel stay for multiple nights to meet mission requirements).
  • Mission Essential position.

OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Educational and Vocational TestingOral CommunicationTechnical Credibility Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04). If you are a current, Federal employee, you must include your pay plan, series and grade in your work experience(s) on your resume submission and/or upload supporting documentation (within-grade increase SF50) to show that you meet the time-in-grade Requirement. In addition, if your step reflects '00', you must include your current salary for each position.
