This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration. Incumbent serves as an Educational Information Officer in the Education Programs Division (LE). Leads NARA's cornerstone civic education initiative, including monitoring the program to ensure relevant success metrics are achieved across Public Museum Engagement and Legislative Archives.
Duties
As an Education Information Officer, you will:
Provide coordination and collaboration among over 20 educators nationwide, promoting NARA's goal of "One Voice."
Work with education specialists to ensure creation of classroom ready activities for K-12 educators.
Manage the development of initiative budgets, schedules, and resource requirements, as well as provide analysis of risk and the development of alternatives when facing unanticipated contingencies.
Manage a variety of education programs for primary and secondary schools, and teachers by developing plans, policies and procedures that guide, govern, and promote these activities.
Develop and advance partnerships to support and advance civics education and history education at the Agency.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify for this position at the GS-13 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at a GS-12 level or equivalent. Experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as experience:
Designing and facilitating professional development programs for educators at the K-12 level that includes best practices for integrating primary resources and archival material into classroom instruction.; AND
Creating educational curriculum that integrates primary resources and archival materials for students at the K-12 level.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable (as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F):
For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12level for 52 weeks.
