Duties
You will provide program management of a cybersecurity operations program and ensure that the appropriate operational cybersecurity is implemented and maintained for all information systems and programs.
You will develop and interpret IT policies, procedures, and strategies.
You will visualize the potential for new IT developments to apply them to an organizations mission and IT business requirements.
You will ensure compliance with appropriate procedures to ensure, protect and restore information security systems and network services and capabilities.

- This position has been designated as a Cyberspace Workforce position in the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) work role of (722) proficiency level (Intermediate) as a condition of employment,
- the incumbent of the position is required to obtain and maintain qualification in accordance with DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Management Program, February 15, 2023, and supporting Department of Navy policies.
- This designation requires the incumbent to:
1. Obtain the foundational qualification within nine months and the residential qualification
- within 12 months of appointment and maintain those credentials as described in DoDM 8140.03 for DCWF role of (722-Information Systems Security Manager Intermediate Level) proficiency level (Intermediate).
- For more information, please review DoDM 8140.03 and supporting DON policies. 2. Participate in continuous professional development program as described in DoDM 8140.03.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- An annual 20 hour minimum of Cyber Workforce related continuous professional development must be documented and completed in a current individual development plan signed by both the employee and supervisor.
- Continuous professional development begins in the fiscal year after the employee has obtained both foundational and residential qualification requirements.
- 3. Acknowledge responsibilities in writing via command designation letter.
- Failure to meet a condition of employment may result in disciplinary and/or adverse action up to removal from federal service.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Mastery experience of IT principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices sufficient to develop and interpret policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of IT security throughout MSC. Experience with IT developments and applications including emerging technologies and the ability to visualize the potential for applying them to satisfy an organizations mission and business requirements. Experience with information systems security protocols sufficient to integrate information system security with other security disciplines and to ensure coordination and/or collaboration on security activities. Mastery experience evaluating, implementing, and disseminating information systems security tools and procedures sufficient to ensure, protect, and restore information security systems and networks services and capabilities. Experience supervising and directing subordinate personnel regarding IT performance guidelines, criteria and priorities.
