You will serve as a Security Specialist with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) .
All Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) positions are in the excepted service. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.

Duties
You will be responsible for providing direction, policy guidance, and oversight of subordinate personnel that are responsible for conducting assessments and examining physical security conditions of foreign ports.
You will maintain awareness of current federal policies, directives and procedures, and evolving innovative approaches to antiterrorism, force protection, law enforcement and physical security education and training.
You will develop and executes new certification or qualification requirements and program guidelines and improved methods and approaches for training.
You will be responsible for developing and managing policies and procedures for the DON's vulnerability assessment programs which includes Port Assessments (PA), and Airfield Assessments (AA).
You will develop assigned security and law enforcement personnel to identify, understand, and properly address the capabilities and limitations of civilian.

- This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position has been designated as a Security Professional Educational Development (SPeD), designated position; Physical Security Certification (PSC) is required within 24 months of assuming the position and must be maintained.
- This position is a Critical Sensitive (CS) National Security Risk and Mission Essential (ME).
- The incumbent is expected to report for duty in time or stay on duty despite late reporting, early dismissal or base closure -due to inclement weather of other types of emergencies or situations.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning, organizing, and following through by implementing comprehensive security programs involving various security disciplines, to include information, technical and automated data processing (ADP) security.
