You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTORATE DIVISION of COMMANDER LITTORAL COMBAT SQUADRON TWO.
Duties
You will implement and coordinate all matters pertaining to the security protection of information and sensitive operations.
You will assist with scheduling and monitoring the effectiveness of the security programs.
You will assist with plans, reports and surveys for compliance with existing policies and procedures.
You will schedule inspections, approve inspection reports, and systematically follow-ups on status of corrective actions.
You will assist with the preparation and maintenance of personnel security clearances access list.
You will assist with security related training, administration, and inspections.
You will assist with monitoring and reporting, by type and nature, all incidents, including serious incident reports resulting in criminal investigations.
You will utilize the Joint Adjudication System (JPAS) to maintain clearances.
You will assist with the responsibility for the distribution of classified documents.
You will assist with the review of security directives disseminated by higher authority.
Requirements

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience analyzing an organization's missions and operations to determine the most efficient information and personnel security methods and controls that will have the least amount of interference on operations.
Experience assisting with the planning and implementation of information and personnel security related protective methods and procedures.
Experience assisting with the inspection, analysis and evaluation of information and personnel security matters, issues and problems.
Experience applying a variety of security methods and techniques to identify and resolve routine problems.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR
Possession of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to this position being filled.
