The Office of Aerospace Medicine (AAM) develops and manages medical programs in support of Aviation Safety. This position serves as a Lead Program Coordinator (DPC) for Aerospace Medicine, within the Internal Substance Abuse Program (ISAP), for the Regional Service Area where the position is assigned.

Duties

As the Lead DPC, applies experience and advanced knowledge to provide program oversight within service center jurisdictions. Serves as the liaison to the Regional Drug Program Coordinators within their servicing jurisdictions providing oversight, assigning tasks, and monitoring the ISAP business within their service areas. Serves as the primary advisor within their service center areas applying analytical and evaluative techniques to identify and resolve issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature related to non-technical aspects of the drug and alcohol testing program. Provides advice to management on the procedures for testing, chain of custody, and the ramifications of a positive test result. Monitors the urinalysis collection process. Serves as a principal point of contact with the contractor, contractor's laboratory personnel and FAA/DOT officials.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTSTo qualify for this position at the FV-I (FG/GS 13) level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-H (FG/GS 12) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position to be filled, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE includes applying experience and advanced knowledge of oversight regarding drug and alcohol testing programs; advising management using analytical and evaluative techniques to problem-solve and resolve issues of both technical and non-technical natures; providing training, direction, and guidance to lower-level employees; communicating various aspects of program requirements to ensure program outcomes are met in accordance with milestones and objectives. Applicants should provide examples of specialized experience in their work history.ANDQUALITY RANKING FACTOR (QRF): A well-qualified candidate will demonstrate in their resume skill in interpretation analysis and application of Federal and DOT/FAA laws and regulations associated with the FAA/DOT Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace program.
