About the Position: Serves in the Army's Office of Policy and Global Affairs (OPGA) as strategic advisor, staff action officer, and staff-level representative to Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Staff (JS), and other external organizations for matters pertaining to strategy, policy, and resourcing.

Duties

Provides expert advice to supervisors and Army Senior Leaders (ASL) on issues and opportunities within assigned portfolio(s). Applies extensive knowledge of strategic concepts, ASL priorities, and national defense and security objectives to analyze DoD and Joint policies, concepts, and strategic plans and determine impacts on Army strategic equities. Facilitates ASL oversight of Army strategic planning processes through close coordination with a variety of strategic planning bodies within the Army enterprise. Coordinates across the Army, joint, and DoD enterprises on sensitive and complex projects, studies, and other efforts to formulate, integrate, implement, and assess ASL strategy and policy priorities.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent subject to a One-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • ELIGIBLE FOR SITUATIONAL TELEWORK ONLY, INCLUDING EMERGENCY AND OPM PRESCRIBED "UNSCHEDULED TELEWORK".
  • Incumbent must obtain and maintain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance.
  • Personnel must pass drug screening prior to hiring and will be subject to periodic and random drug testing, thereafter, in accordance with AR 600-85 and Department of Defense Directive 2010.9.

AND 3. Coordinating across the Army, joint, and DoD enterprises to formulate policy priorities.
