You will serve as a RESOURCE COORDINATOR (PIPING GROUP) in the Pipe Shop (Code 960), Production Resources Department
Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will be responsible for the movement of personnel between projects and ensuring the proper mix of personnel is available to perform the tasks required.
You will advise on the selection of personnel for off-yard travel by evaluating their place on the Volunteer Travel List, qualifications, training, and skill level.
You will conduct meetings as necessary with project team members to discuss and resolve shop and/or project team problems.
You will provide analytical assessment of quality information to identify trends with resources or with a specific process.
You will submit travel requests and track the completion date and timeframe in which orders will be ready for pickup.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications
GS-09:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience planning and coordinating complex ship repair, overhaul, and installation projects with an understanding of scheduling, resources, and qualification requirements.
Experience establishing and maintaining logs, records, or databases to track employee interest and availability for off base work, current location, qualifications and training, and similar information
Experience providing basic/special travel briefs, scheduling, rescheduling, canceling, and/or requesting employee training and qualification extensions as needed for travel.
Experience reassigning personnel in accordance with the shift or project assignment to support changing work situations.
Experience establishing and maintaining effective relationships with supervisors, customers, and co-workers on complex or controversial issues.
GS:07
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-5 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience tracking timekeeping for employees on travel for regular pay, overtime, and resolving any discrepancies concerning pay while employees are on travel.
Experience providing advice on work and training needs and implements ways to eliminate bottlenecks.
Experience ensuring and arranging all employees to have the proper training or certifications.
Experience requesting/canceling medical appointments, training, and other events that impact the employee's ability to be assigned as projects and internal shops available resources.

Education
GS-09:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
or
Possession of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to this position being filled.
