About the Position: Serves as the Installation Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) Coordinator responsible for providing management and technical expertise for all components of the ITAM program for Fort Bliss, TX
Duties
Supervises and directs work operations for the Fort Cavazos Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) Program and staff.
Optimizes training land management decisions by coordinating mission requirements and land maintenance activities with training land sustainment capabilities through the ITAM Training Restricted Area (TRA) Program.
Provides management and technical expertise for the sustainment of training lands to support military readiness activity (MRA) training to standards.
Prepares and coordinates the Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) Work-plan for the installation.
Coordinates the acquisition and maintenance of ITAM equipment and supplies.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license and any installation and/or DoD license required for the type of vehicle being driven.
- Incumbent may spend up to 25% of the time in travel or TDY status.
- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Employee is required to attend approximately three TDY trips annually to facilitate management of the ITAM program.
- Employee is required to participate in management meetings that may involve extended work hours.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience overseeing Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) Programs such as Land Rehabilitation and Maintenance (LRAM), Range and Training Land Assessment (RTLA), and/or Geographical Information Systems (GIS). Preparing reports and/or plans on readiness training operations. Providing recommendations on training land management and sustainment projects.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
