This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Information Technology(OIT), Division of Enterprise Services. As a IT Specialist (Systems Analysis), GS-2210-13, you will lead and coordinate IT projects and initiatives across the division. You will collaborate with business owners, stakeholders, contractors, and team members.

Duties

Serves as an IT Specialist, System Analyst, and advisor to leadership at the Division level. Analyzes and reviews project management and/or technical designs to ensure that they are compliant with CMS standards and are sound/feasible technical designs. Works closely with contractor personnel to set policy direction, identities projects, reviews products and evaluates contractor performance. Provides technical consultation and assistance to CMS business components on matters within the scope of areas related to IT.

(3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. (4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In order to qualify for the GS-13, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Developing, implementing or managing cloud-based customer collaboration platforms, systems, and solutions (e.g. SharePoint); 2) Managing IT projects using Agile development methodologies; AND 3) Providing recommendations to management for improvements to IT projects, systems and solutions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
