Duties
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team in the Administrative Division that is responsible for supporting the office mission of upholding Federal Criminal and Civil laws that protect life, liberty, and the property of citizens. As an Administrative Services Specialist typical work assignments will include:
Serving as Contracting Officer Representative for construction, maintenance, service contracts and all minor repair projects.
Responsible for maintaining and administering a variety of budget and financial management activities.
Monitoring and tracking obligations and expenditures.
Assisting in formulation justification and execution of the office budget.
Responsible for administrating routine contracting and procurement activities.
Reviewing requisitions and formal advertising or negotiations.
Coordinating a variety of facility maintenance and/or repair activities for offices workspaces.
Promoting and coordinating effective records management programs with manages and employees by providing guidance and training.
Ensuring that personnel, records, and the facility are safe and in full conformance with applicable security requirement.
Projecting and analyzing space needs based on proposed initiatives, staff changes and technology improvements.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National
- Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation
- You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable
- If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
- You must meet all qualification requirements upon the closing date of this announcement.
Qualifications
GS-9: To be eligible at the GS-9 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below: Specialized Experience, Education, OR a combination of Education and Experience.
Specialized Experience: Must possess at least one full year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level in Federal or private sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience monitoring and tracking budget obligations and expenditures; reviewing requisitions and developing statements of work; coordinating effective records management programs; analyzing space needs, staff changes and/or technology improvements.
OR
Education: Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in a related field (e.g., Accounting, Business Administration, Financial Management); OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related. My education was obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position.

Combining Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. In order to qualify based on a combination, graduate education must be in excess of 1 full year.
GS-11: In order to qualify for the GS-11 level, you must meet at least one of the following conditions as defined below: Specialized Experience, Education, OR a Combination of Education and Experience.
Specialized Experience: Must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level in Federal service or private sector. Specialized experience includes formulating, justifying, and monitoring the execution of an office budget; reviewing requisitions, products and services; identifying cost-benefit relationships between budget and program goals; and analyzing and making recommendations to support service functions in areas such as space management, purchasing supplies and equipment.

Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a related field (e.g., Accounting, Business Administration, Financial Management) OR three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M, if related.
OR
Combining Education and Experience: Must illustrate a combination of specialized experience as described in A and graduate education as described in B which when combined equal 100% of the requirements (only graduate education in excess of 2 full years is creditable).
