You will serve as an Inventory Managment Specialist in the Material Management Department of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER NORFOLK.
Duties
You will serve as a Primary Advisor and SME, making process and program compliance recommendations to the Warehousing Director.
You will manage, coordinate and control material inventory and inventory systems
You will analyze and make recommendations for executing material management processes and quality control efforts
You will participate in formal/informal meetings and briefings to present study results and recommendations to management officials.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-09 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying knowledge of systems, techniques, and underlying management concepts for determining, regulating, or controlling the level and flow of supplies from initial plan through acquisition, storage, issue, and utilization or disposal. Specialized experience must include the following:1) Identifying inventory processing errors (i.e., receipt and/or issue procedures) and correcting inventory discrepancies as they occur; 2) Reviewing/analyzing automated supply support systems (NALCOMIS, NERP and Perpetual Inventory database) as they apply to Inventory transactions and inventory management; 3)Working knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of managing the physical receipt, storage, packing and shipping of material to conduct studies, analyze findings, and make recommendations; 4) Working knowledge of all physical distribution and material accountability operations.

Education
In Lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
