This position is permanent career seaonal position and islocated in Yosemite National Park, in the Facility Management Division.
This is a Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work from approximately February - December and you will be in a non-pay status for the remainder of the year.?
Duties
Travel, transportation, and relocation expenses will not be paid. All travel, transportation, and relocation expenses associated with reporting for duty in this position will be the sole responsibility of the selected employee.
This position will perform the following duties:
Perform preservation carpentry including structural framing, reconstruction of windows and doors, and finish carpentry using a variety of power and hand tools.
Perform preservation masonry including chiseling, mortar analysis and mixing, and repointing of historic features using hand tools.
Perform preservation painting including color matching, paint mixing, and application of paints, stains, and varnishes.
Perform historic preservation roofing including repairs to flashing, shingles, and architectural elements while working on scaffolding or in elevated platforms.
Perform other miscellaneous duties related to historic preservation including plastering, metalwork, and condition assessment.
Assist Exhibits Specialistes and Historic Architects in documentation of historic structures and materials.
