The Energy Management and Marketing Specialist (EMMS) is responsible for the on-shift management of loads and resources, and marketing of resources assigned to the regional/CRSP Energy Management and Marketing Office (EMMO) that may include customer account portfolios.
**This is not a remote position. The selectee will be required to be physically present in Montrose, Colorado.**
Duties
The Energy Management and Marketing Specialist (EMMS) provides energy management and marketing services for generation resources assigned to the EMMO. Representative duties may include any or all of the following:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to the next lower grade level in the federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
For the AD-02 Level: To qualify for the AD-02 level, applicants must have one (1) year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (AD-01 or GS-05/07) in the federal service. For the AD-02 level, applicants must have experience in ALL of the following:
Resolving complex issues; AND
Customer Service.
For the AD-03 Level: To qualify for the AD-03 level applicants must have one (1) year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (AD-02 or GS-07/09) in the federal service. For the AD-03 level, applicants must have experience in ALL of the following:
Resolving complex issues;
Customer Service;
Power marketing or power plant operations; AND
Contract negotiations.
For the AD-04 Level: To qualify for the AD-04 level, applicants must have one (1) year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (AD-03 or GS-11) in the federal service. For the AD-03 level, applicants must have experience in ALL of the following:
Resolving complex issues;
Customer service;
Power marketing or power plant operations;
Contract negotiations;
Applying the use of e-tagging standards; AND
Using OASIS systems.
"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: Current career or career-conditional GS employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional GS employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to current career or career-conditional federal employees applying for a Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
Education
For this position, education cannot be substituted for experience. There is no education requirement for this position.
