You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST in the G-6 COMMUNICATIONS ELECTRONICS DIVISION of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO.

Duties

You will develop and implement guidance and directive(s) for local users on the proper use and safeguarding of COMSEC key and material utilized by the EKMS staff and Local Element(s). You will review and provide oversight of the EKMS/COMSEC EAP, ensuring personnel are familiar and trained on emergency procedures and is coordinated with the commands overall emergency action plan. You will work with senior level command, staff and supported customers on a regular basis. You will brief, as required, senior level staff on matters pertaining to COMSEC and advises the Commander on new policy and procedure that arise from DoN or higher authority.

• This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 723 COMSEC Manager, proficiency level Intermediate the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing, evaluating work, processes and operating procedures for the purpose of safeguarding Classified Communication Security (COMSEC) material(s); evaluate complex reports and prepare logically written recommendations to improve or establish security systems.
