The primary purpose of this position is to serve as Planning and Scheduling Specialist and Executive Assistant for the 90th Missile Wing (MW) Command Section. This position will ensure planning effectiveness by scheduling and assisting with execution of all installation/wing visits & activities associated with the 90th Missile Wing strategic calendar (STRATCAL).
Duties
Performs as the 90th MW Liaison Providing Administrative Support for Installation and Wing Staff Programs, Projects, and Activities.
Organizing and executing a wide range of planning and scheduling activities for the 90th Missile Wing.
Directly assists the commander/director in the management of administrative support program functions.
Performs communication, computer and administrative support to command section for meetings, briefings and secure/unsecure video teleconferences.

- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft/vehicle to conferences, meetings, or functions away from the duty office/location. Travel may include overnight stays.
- This position requires a high degree of discretion in relation to sensitive information of which the incumbent is aware.
- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours and/or shift work may be required which may include overtime and/or irregular hours.
- The employee must meet and maintain training requirements as outlined in applicable DoD and AF regulations.
- This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
- Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
- The work requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver’s license is required for the position.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
GS-07 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes: (1) Knowledge of management and organization principles and theories, including standardized administrative practices and procedures common to the organization or area of responsibility. (2) Knowledge of qualitative methods for the analysis and improvement of planning/scheduling effectiveness; and (3) Ability to apply well-established program operations techniques and methods to identify and recommend solutions to problems.

EDUCATION: One full year of graduate level education in a field directly related which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.

(2) Knowledge of the Installation, and Group functions, program goals, work processes, organizational structure, and schedule to conduct projects and studies and to evaluate and recommend ways to improve effectiveness and efficiency of special projects, plans, and operations; and (3) Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet requirements and objectives within available resources.
EDUCATION: master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of management and organization principles and theories, including standardized administrative practices and procedures common to the organization or area of responsibility.
2. Knowledge of the Installation, Wing, and Group functions, program goals, work processes, organizational structure, and schedule to conduct projects and studies and to evaluate and recommend ways to improve effectiveness and efficiency of special projects, plans, and operations.
3. Knowledge of DAF, MAJCOM, and unit/installation organizational structure, operations, and policies.
4. Knowledge of unit/installation mission requirements, vulnerabilities, operational and computer security policies, inspection scheduling program goals and objectives, and internal controls.
5. Skill in basic scheduling, planning, and organizing and de-conflicting events/visits, etc., on wing STRATCAL. Skill in gathering, assembling, and analyzing data/facts, developing conclusions, identifying trends, developing alternatives/solutions and making recommendations to resolve problems of a procedural or factual nature. Skill in oral and written communications.
6. Ability to plan and conduct meetings with subordinate units, Wing staff, and inter- and intra- agencies.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
