This position is part of the Office of Environmental Management - Richland Operations Office, Department of Energy. As a Supervisory Management and Program Analyst Director of Hanford Office of Communications, you will be responsible for managing and directing policy development, analysis, & planning complex & sensitive public affairs, internal, & intergovernmental communications activities at the Richland Operations Office (RL) & Office of River Protection (ORP).

As a Supervisory Management and Program Analyst, you will:
Requirements
- You must be a United States Citizen.

- First time supervisors will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing thereafter. Failure to test or a positive result on random drug tests conducted after appointment may result in removal from Federal employment.
- A preliminary background check must be completed before a new employee can begin work. Current Federal employees or other individuals with an existing completed background investigation may not be required to undergo another background check.
- This position has been designated as Critical-Sensitive and requires a security clearance at the Q level. The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain this clearance; failure to do so may result in separation from federal service
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level 14 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting 4 of 6 of the following:
Lead an Office of Communications (or similar) by planning and authorizing work to be accomplished, setting priorities, and establishing schedule
Oversee the analysis and/or evaluation of available information (e.g., media reports, civic positions, and public statements) to coordinate and recommend correspondence for an organization
Direct and supervise the development and implementation of internal, external, and stakeholder communications (to include but not limited to regulatory, congressional, and tribal interactions)
Evaluate the effectiveness of supervised operations to recommend adjustments or new initiatives to achieve public communication goals
Manage intergovernmental relations and serve on top level advisory boards/committees relative to general management of the office mission
Recommend or act on proposals that impact site operations while keeping leadership apprised of all developments.
