About the Position: The mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) is the Army's Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation.

Duties

Conduct biochemical testing collection, and ships urine specimens to Forensic Toxicology Drug Testing Laboratories (FTDTC). Prepare biochemical urinalysis documentation and labeling of samples. Compile and screen all required forms and documentation to accompany and ship testing samples to test laboratories in accordance with chain of custody requirements. Perform a wide range of administrative and clerical duties in administering and coordinating the Depot's biochemical testing program. Conduct and/or monitors breath alcohol test procedures. Serve as the Depot technical expert on breath alcohol test equipment and regulatory requirements. Serve as the training instructor and certifying official for all CCAD Breath Alcohol Test Technicians (BAT) and all other classes dealing with breath alcohol testing. Collect and provide information relating to the testing programs to the supervisor for presentations to the base commander and staff or to the head of agency and staff.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position must be able to obtain and maintain DA Drug Test Coordinator Certification within 9 months of assuming duties.
  • This position must obtain and maintain Breath Alcohol Test (BAT) Certification within one (1) year from the date of employment.
  • This position must be able to obtain and maintain factory authorized calibration and instructional certification within 12 months of assuming duties.
  • This position is subject to 24/7 recall to administer urinalysis testing. Incumbent may be called back to work extended hours, weekends, evenings, and holidays to perform emergency overtime to administer urinalysis testing.
  • This position requires a personnel security background check Tier 3.

In order to be creditable under this provision, Superior Academic Achievement must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled, such as that identified in Education above. Superior Academic Achievement is based on: (1) Class Standing - Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses; OR (2) Grade-Point Average (G.P.A.) - Applicants must have a grade-point average of either (a) 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on your official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or (b) 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum.; OR (3) Honor Society Membership - Applicants may be considered eligible based on membership in one of the approved national scholastic honor societies listed by the Association of College Honor Societies (https://www.achsnatl.org/). OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
