About the Position: This position is located at the Naval Health Clinic Corpus Christi, Texas.
Duties
Greet visitors to screen and refer to appropriate office or person based on specific interest or need.
Schedule appointments and meetings according to department's needs.
Manage office supply budget by monitoring expenses and departmental requirements.
Compose routine correspondence to ensure accuracy, reviewing any documentation for signature to verify conformance with regulations.
Manage appointment calendar for Chief and other key personnel as necessary.
Utilize automated systems for office tasks such as correspondence, reports, data management, tracking staff actions, etc.
Track ongoing suspense items through a log to ensure responses are addressed timely.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- A pre-placement medical examination is required.
Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing automated systems; managing budget and supplies; tracking actions and suspense dates, and other administrative support tasks such as answering phones, scheduling meetings and appointments, maintaining files, preparing correspondence, reviewing documents for accuracy, and providing customer service. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-6).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
