You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIRE PROTECTION INSPECTOR in the ???????Regional Fire Rescue Directorate Department, Operations Division of NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY CRANE.
Duties
You will write reports of fire inspections performed, fire code violations observed, and corrective recommendations offered
You will manage the development and implementation of a risk management plan for a fire department.
You will explain work requirements to fire inspectors and other employees related to new or changed procedures
You will collaborate with fire fighter personnel to ensure emergency responses (e.g., fire suppression, injured victims, hazardous spill cleanup) are
assigned
You will determine measures to reduce or eliminate the potential for fire or explosion.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain current Fire Inspector I, II, and III; Fire Instructor I and II; Firefighter I and II; Hazmat Awareness, Hazardous Materials Operations and HAZMAT ICS certifications.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain current CPR and First responder First-Aid certifications.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to complete a physical annually.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- You will be required to complete an Emergency Vehicle Operators course.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Supervising fire prevention staff in daily work assignments (i.e. making work assignments, ensuring work is evenly distributed, reporting status of work); 2) Developing and conducting training courses on fire safety practices and procedures on fire topics (i.e. fixed and portable fire protection equipment, station fire prevention regulations, fire warden program, home and/or work practices and specialized training); 3) Reviewing plans and conducting on-site inspections of all areas of facilities to ensure compliance of codes and accepted practice; 4) Assisting with the development and direction of a fire prevention program consistent with standard publications and local policies to maintain a fire safe environment for protection of life and property.
