About the Position: Serves as a Strategic Planner in the Strategy and Plans Directorate, in a project initiation and manager capacity with responsibility for managing, planning, coordinating, integrating and implementing Command priorities.
Duties
Responsible for assembling ad hoc teams for planning.
Designing, and developing critical analysis, briefings, and studies related to Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC), Commanding Generals priorities.
Develops, coordinates, and publishes plans and policies to execute force management decisions.
Coordinates input of staff elements into the force structure planning process.
Initiates force planning to support Combatant Command forces deployment and subsequent decisions to adjust force structure.
Serves as an advisor to G-5 staff principals, Deputy Commanding General (DCG) and Commanding General (CG) on all force management issues and impacts.
Ensures that positions on force management issues do not violate the wide variety of planning actions.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights or entitlement based on active military service, recovery from a compensable injury, or return rights based on an overseas tour.
- In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.

- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
