Serves as the Promotions Coordinator in a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) HQ location. The primary purpose of this position is to direct the work of promotion assistants performing the creation and maintenance of all promotional packages.
Duties
Maintains a calendar of work requirements and suspenses for when promotional packages, updates, price requests/reminders, phase outs, seasonal packages, case lots, club packs, and scan downs must be completed.
Assigns and maintains all event numbers for all promotional packages.
Maintains commodity code list to delete old items not picked up for upcoming promotional/seasonal packages.
Converts item information into spreadsheets in final form, publishes and sends to all pertinent parties.
Provides guidance and direction to assistants on work requirements, deadlines and complex issues.

Qualifications
You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 1101 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. Your resume (and/or transcript if necessary) must clearly show that you have the qualifications described below. You can use experience, education, superior academic achievement, or a combination of experience and education to qualify. When using education to meet qualifications you must submit transcripts. See Required Documents for more information.
Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 grade level or equivalent to at least GS-7 under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military.
Examples of qualifying specialized experience:
Determine trends in consumer habits and make recommendations regarding findings.
Knowledge of retail operations, policies, procedures, and practices.
Compile reports, memorandums, and checklists to develop and publish an executable promotional package
OR
Education: A Master's or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with major study in business administration, public administration, agricultural economics (food industry management), or other fields related to the position
OR
Combination of experience and education: To calculate the combination, divide your total months of experience by 12, then divide your semester hours by 60 and add the two percentages. If the total is 100%, you meet the minimum qualifications through a combination of experience and education..
You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Additional Requirements that must be met by the closing date:
Physical requirements: Work is mostly sedentary. No special physical demands are required, however there may be some
walking, standing, bending, or carrying of light items.
Time-in-grade applies to the promotion of current and former federal employees who hold or have held a permanent GS position in either the competitive or excepted service in the previous 52 weeks, including current employees applying under VEOA. For GS-9: You must have 52 weeks of Federal service at or equivalent to GS-7.
Time after competitive appointment. Current federal civilian employees must have completed at least 90 days of federal civilian service since being selected for a nontemporary appointment from a competitive examination register of eligibles (an announcement opened to the public) or under a direct hire authority.
