You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist (Logistics Readiness) in the Marine Expeditionary Force of I MARINE EXPEDITIONARY FORCE. Duties

You will be responsible for ensuring the execution of assigned planning responsibilities takes place. You will assess deployment plans in support of contingency operations and exercises to ensure that distribution and support planning is substantive and accurate. You will analyze long and short-range planning to determine future needs, objectives and capabilities. You will be responsible for the compilation and interpretation of the performance data on timeliness and costs of technical acquisitions. You will evaluate problems and recommends or initiates corrective actions to include tasking and evaluating support of various functional areas. You will provide end-to-end cost benefit analysis of international outsourced logistics options against contracting or other traditional sourcing methods.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Coordinating, developing, planning and analyzing military logistics capabilities for specified mission sets and operating areas; AND developing and implementing operational logistics policies, logistics support requirements, and logistics feasibility of support analysis for a command.
