About the Position: This position is located at the Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, California.
Duties
Responsible for providing continuing overall guidance and management assistance for accomplishing the Command logistics mission.
Provide leadership, plans, schedules, coordinates, and monitors logistics operation.
Develop and publishes command policies and memorandums that provide logical direction and establish requirements and standards of logistic function.
Ensures goals to optimize the number of lines stocked and to minimize costs are reached.
Supervise all personnel in inventory management division, DMLSS division, property and equipment management division, biomedical engineering division, and purchasing division.
Assign work to subordinates based on priorities and selective considerations of the difficulty of assignments and capabilities of employees.
Evaluate performance and gives advice, counsel or instruction to individual employees on both work and administrative matters.
Requirements
- A pre-placement medical examination may be required.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons in accordance with Army Regulation 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.
- A candidate tentatively selected for appointment to this position will be required to sign a statement consenting to annual seasonal influenza vaccination.
- One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes develop, coordinate, or evaluate the effectiveness of a variety of planning efforts related to a Medical Logistics Management; Supervises and assigns work to subordinates.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above).
