You will serve as a Maintenance Mechanic of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND HAWAII.

Duties

You will conduct visual inspections and operational tests to determine the need for maintenance or repair work. You will plan maintenance work assignments required to accomplish mission. You will use measuring devices to determine dimensions for construction purposes (e.g., measuring tapes, rulers, squares, laser sensor devices.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • Certified in the use of a respirator.

Qualifications

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Proficient in fire alarm and suppression system ITM and repairs.; 2) Interpreting safety practices.; 3) Ability to operate by license forklift, manlift and bucket trucks. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
