You will serve as a TELECOMMUNICATIONS MANAGER in the G-6, TELECOMMUNICATIONS DIVISION of MARINE CORPS BASE.

Duties

You will review and interpret guidance issued by higher headquarters and executes the complete spectrum of telecommunications lifecycle management programs and elements within the boundaries of this guidance. You will be directly responsible for the success of systems sustainment programs and projects. You will develop solutions, recommends adjustments in processes and procedures, and implements changes to workflow to ensure resources are properly assigned, employed, measured and controlled in the best interest of the organization. You will evaluate the level and quality of operations in order to direct corrective actions to resolve problems such as excessive failures or high operating costs. You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set priorities, and prepare schedules.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Subject to recall during times of crisis to serve as telecommunications management professional. Compensatory time and/or emergency compensatory time may be required.
  • Position requires TAD to attend conferences, training, site visits and inspections. Travel may average around 5 days per month, but may be more in certain circumstances.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Oversees the planning, installation, operation, sustainment and overall efficiency of an integrated IT/Telecommunication systems, programs, and projects; evaluate level and quality of operation development to determine and/or propose solutions, recommendations, and resolve problems; provide guidance on staffing levels and funding constraints to meet life cycle mission objectives; and brief a diverse audience on enterprise efforts and expenses.
