Duties

You will analyze and review documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and feasibility with competing requirements and compliance with established local/agency policy and regulations. You will coordinate with Subject Matter Experts to identify and resolve schedule issues, changes in operational requirements, and demands from possible competing customers/users. You will monitor the status of telecommunications service requests and reviews active TSR's for potential difficulties. You will log all service request received from the customers into the telecommunications management system. You will rate and categorize telecommunication requests.

Requirements

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • The employee may be required to work overtime.
  • The employee may be recalled to duty.
  • Some Temporary Additional Duty (TAD) assignments may be required.
  • Employee will be required to move boxes of paper weighing as much as 25 pounds in order to reload printers and move computer terminals of equal weight.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Coordinating and managing all Telecommunication Service Requests (TSR); analyzing and reviewing documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, feasibility, and compatibility; identifying and resolving schedule issues, changes in operational requirements, and demands from possible competing customers/users; explaining and advising on various telecommunications aspects to include line speed, available lines, communications paths, and the timeline required to complete the request; monitoring the status of telecommunications service requests, reviewing active TSR's for potential difficulties; ensuring TSR completion dates coincide with requester due dates; providing assistance and advisory services to customers in estimating dates, responding to routine inquiries involving implementation of service requests; briefing customers on proper usage of telecommunications services and the management tools available for the required submission of service requests; AND logging all service requests received from the customers into the telecommunications management system, ensuring that the proper syntax is used for proper report actions. Education

Education

Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled.

Other Education: Communications/electronics or automatic data processing training in technical institutes or business schools above the high school level or in Armed Forces schools that included advanced instruction in addition to basic courses, may be substituted for general experience on a month-for-month basis

In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education as follows:
  • I have successfully completed master's or equivalent graduate degree or
  • I have successfully completed 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or
