About the Position: Serve as the Supervisor Fire and Emergency Services Branch and be responsible for making specific technical decisions on matters involving fire and emergency services Army wide.
This position is included under the provisions of Special Retirement Coverage (SRC) and may have both a maximum entry age and a mandatory retirement date.

Duties
Provide expert advice to IMCOM Region Offices, Army Commands, and Army Installation Commanders regarding all aspects of fire prevention and protection.
Plan and schedule ongoing work to be accomplished by subordinates.
Serve as the technical expert/program integrator and assists in the development of fire protection projects for Army installations, and provides expertise for development and design of apparatus, appliances, devices, and systems involved.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the completion of pre-employment and periodic subsequent medical examination in accordance with DoDM 6055.06 to ensure continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted.
- This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer.
- This position requires the incumbent to wear the prescribed uniform and/or personal protective equipment while on duty.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This is an obligated position.
- This is a Term position not to exceed 4 years but may be converted to a permanent position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which includes: Developing and publishing Department of Army fire prevention/protection guidance and regulations. Planning, developing, coordinating, and providing staff guidance, policies, procedures, and techniques for Army-wide fire prevention/fire protection programs, to include Weapons of Mass Destruction, Training, Firefighting, Hazardous Materials, Confined Space, and Rescue Programs. Reviewing and approving contract drawings and specifications for inclusion of fire protection features, and for compliance with Army Regulations and National Fire Protection Association Standards. Developing and correlating policy and procedural controls involving the establishment of manpower requirements, training, and assignment of fire protection supervisory, administrative, fire prevention and operations organizations. Experience maintaining records of fire apparatus assigned to fire departments and monitoring the overall condition of the fleet.
In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirement above, must be certified within the DoD Fire and Emergency Services Fire Fighter Certification system, International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC), or the Fire Service Professional Qualifications System (PRO-Board) at the Fire Officer IV, Fire Instructor II, Fire Inspector II, HAZMAT incident Commander. NOTE: For each certification listed above, you MUST submit a copy with your application package or you will be rated in-eligible.
