About the Position: Serves as the Supervisor Fire and Emergency Services Branch, Installation Management Command (IMCOM) HQ. This is an obligated position.
Duties
Responsible for making specific technical decisions on matters involving fire and emergency services Command wide.
Performs duties on own initiative within broad policy and program guidance and is required to exercise independent judgment in the analysis and solution of fire protection and fire prevention problems.
Responsible for developing program guidelines, procedures, and strategies for achieving the overall objectives of the program.
Exercises all delegated authority to the fullest extent possible for overall planning, direction and timely execution of the mission for the Fire and Emergency Services Branch.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights or entitlement based on active military service, recovery from a compensable injury, or return rights based on an overseas tour.

???????Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes planning, developing, coordinating and providing staff guidance, policies, procedures, and techniques for firefighting prevention and control to include Weapons of Mass Destruction, Training, Firefighting, Hazardous Materials, Confined Space, and Rescue Programs; experience applying U.S., DOD, OSHA, federal, and state fire prevention and control policies, engineering techniques, traditional work practices, and fire building codes/standards in accordance with state and federal levels to provide authoritative advice on the interpretation and application of critical criteria in the resolution of fire prevention and control problems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
