You will serve as a SMALL CRAFT OPERATOR SUPERVISOR I in the Port Operations Department of NAVBASE KITSAP SILVERDALE WA.
Duties
You will oversee the operation and routine Maintenace of small craft to include log broncs, light tugs, barrier boats, utility boats, oil recovery skimmers, and boom platform boats.
You will oversee regular and preventative maintenance on the small craft.
You will supervise the boat crews to include operators, deckhands, or others as required.
You will maintain a log of daily operations and occurrences, submits reports of operation as required.
You will identify discrepancies in equipment on small craft which may cause a hazard to personnel or property.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current forklift license up to 7.5 ton (15,000#) capacity.
- You will be required to become Facility Response Team (FRT) and HSIRM qualified.
- You will be required to qualify as a 2nd class swimmer or attend Basic Safety training prior to taking this course.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

1) Planning and assigning the daily work tasks of small boat crews, including operators and deck hands; 2) Overseeing boat crews during normal operations, emergency situations, drills, routine maintenance, and related waterfront activities; 3) Ensuring crews are trained on the proper use of onboard deck and safety equipment; 4) Inspecting equipment to ensure it is always ready for operation.
