Duties

Plans, directs, organizes, and controls the work of the IC Budget Offices. Leads development of procedures and methods to budget for long-range funding and to meet changing program needs. Reviews, analyzes, revises, and recommends approval, disapproval, or modification of budget requests and justifications. Analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of the IC in meeting established budgetary goals and objectives and performance measures. Advises senior leadership on budget and financial strategies to meet legislative mandates. Prepares a variety of regular and special reports and presentation materials covering the status of funds, expenses, and obligations.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.
  • Employment is subject to the successful completion of the pre-appointment process (i.e., background investigation, verification of qualifications and job requirements, completion of onboarding forms, submission of required documents, etc.)
  • Males born after December 31, 1959 must be registered with the Selective Service.

Qualifications

You qualify at the GS-14 level, if you meet the following qualification requirements: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: providing advice to senior level management and program managers on all phases of budget execution and financial management; evaluating organization-wide financial goals, objectives, policies, and strategies; formulating, developing, and forecasting future budgetary requirements; analyzing specific budgetary and fiscal areas of special concern and recommending procedures for change.
