You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY) in the HEADQUARTERS BATTALION, S1 IADJ (ADMIN SECTION) of MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII.
Duties
You will communicate fact based and procedural guidance with clarity both orally and in writing.
You will manage work to be accomplished by subordinates, set priorities, and establish schedules for work completion.
You will direct, monitor, and control the day-to-day operation of the Deployments Section.
You will certify transactions completed via the Unit Diary (UD)/Manpower Integrated Personnel Systems (MIPS) pertaining to deployments, to include pay and entitlements.
You will report system and equipment problems to the appropriate support activity and follow up to ensure timely resolutions.
You will ensure correct pay/entitlements of deployed Marines and timely stoppage of entitlements upon return from deployment.
You will ensure pre/post deployment audits are conducted within prescribed guidelines.
You will provide technical advice and guidance concerning pay entitlements to supervisors within supported units.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Researching and analyzing guidelines, regulations, and directives; managing quality control procedures; AND assigning and directing work assignments based on priorities, requirements of assignments, and capabilities of clerical staff.
