You will serve as a TECHNICAL INFORMATION SPECIALIST in the Navy Department Library (NDL) of NAVAL HISTORY AND HERITAGE COMMAND.
Duties
You will update, monitor, and coordinate information and exhibits on the library's webpage.
You will search, verify, and provide cataloging of library materials.
You will provide technical assistance for automated services including, but not limited to the Library's Integrated Library System (ILS) including online public access catalog (OP AC), computer hardware/software, library internal/external networks.
You will provide clerical and technical support to Navy Department Library by compiling and updating library statistical reports
Requirements

Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes duties related to the following:
Performing cataloging and collections management work through the Library's Integrated Library System (ILS);
Cataloging basic library resources using Library of Congress Classification System;
Performing digitization planning and implementation;
Experience working with library cataloging standards; Anglo-American Cataloging Rules 2 (AACR2) and Resource Description and Access (RDA).

Education
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:
Applicants must possess a full 4-year course of study that meets all the requirements for a bachelor's degree with major study in the subject-matter field of the position to be filled;
OR
Four years of experience that provided knowledge of the basic principles, theories, practices, techniques, and terminology of a discipline or subject-matter field; an understanding of the standard methods, procedures, and techniques of research and analysis in the subject-matter field; and where appropriate, ability to read and comprehend nontechnical material in one or more foreign languages. Such experience must have been equivalent to that which would have been gained through a 4-year college curriculum;
OR
a Combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education
OR
doctoral degree (Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent) related to the position
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience
