About the Position:The mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) is the Army's Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation Maintenance.
Duties
Provide administrative technical and clerical support to the division chief and subordinate supervisors/work leaders within the division.
Prepares a variety of reports, composing and/or editing data submitted by functional personnel.
Serves as Credit Card holder, utilizing all resources available in order to purchase products for the organization in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Type all different correspondence keeping abreast of new, revised, or amended procedures for such matters as preparation and processing of correspondence, reports, forms, and security/privacy act procedures.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be willing to travel on Temporary Duty (TDY) up to 5% of the time.
- This position requires a personnel security background check (Tier 1 – Non-Sensitive, Low Risk).
- This position may be subject to a one-year probationary period.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) performs a full range of standard and non-standard clerical assignments, 2) works independently but seeks out help when needed, 3) knowledge of department travel systems, such as Defense Travel Systems (DTS), to make travel arrangements, and 4) records notes during meetings for disbursement to appropriate personal. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
