You will serve as a Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) Branch for the Airborne Threat Simulation Organization in the Threat/Target Systems Department of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV POINT MUGU.

Duties

You will be responsible for developing and supporting electronic combat devices that simulate threat electronic attack and radar emitter systems. You will be responsible for providing technical management, contractual management, financial management, and threat simulation program management for the Airborne Threat Simulation Division. You will be responsible for the deployment of state-of-the-art electronic countermeasures and radar technology in multiple programs. You will be responsible for managing the complete support of programs’ peculiar requirements.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band or grade level (NM-04 = GS 13/14) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Engineer performing some or all of the following: Managing, directing, advising on, administering, or performing professional, scientific, or technical work concerned with engineering or architectural projects, facilities, structures, systems, processes, equipment, devices, material or methods. Developing acquisition packages to include the development of statements of work and/or statements of objectives. Responsible for the acquisition of all components necessary to build threat simulators. effectively direct and manage multiple procurements of components while meeting technical, financial and schedule milestones. providing technical management, contractual management, financial managment, and threat simulation program management for the Airborne Threat Simulation Division. Education

Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:

Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
