You will serve as a INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER/SCIENTIST in the SPECTRUM WARFARE DEPT, AIRCRAFT & SPECTRUM INTREGR ENVIRO DIV of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV POINT MUGU. **This position is aligned with the overarching operational view and model of a fully integrated Electronic Warfare Hardware-in-the-Loop Modeling and Simulation and will primarily be in support of the Closed-loop Radar Electronic Warfare Lab.**

Duties

You will execute Multi-Electronic Warfare Lab Integration project effort in alignment with current Electronic Warfare Modeling and Simulation capabilities, to create an end-to-end Hardware-in-the-Loop Electronic Warfare Modeling and Simulation. You will be developing an integration strategy to include other aspects of the spectrum to the mission level environment. You will lead the integration of these capabilities towards a many-on-many Electronic Warfare Modeling and Simulation that includes the broader spectrum as part of the kill chain. You will develop architectures that provide the capability related to integrated experimentation and data sharing across NAWCWD capabilities. You will build relationships and partnerships across multiple external organizations and foreign partners. You will serve as the Subject Matter Expert in Radio Frequency systems, hardware-in-the-loop simulations, threat simulator equipment, and advanced laboratory hardware/software acquisition and development. You will be incorporating architectures in support of Modeling and Simulation of Next Generation Electronic Warfare. You will develop and submit proposals for funding, and collaborate with teams to provide an enterprise solution across the spectrum.

Qualifications

In addition to the basic education requirements, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DP-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Working with Radio Frequency systems, Hardware-in-the-loop Simulations, threat simulator architectures and systems, and advanced laboratory hardware/software acquisition and development; 2) Working knowledge of Electronic Warfare threat models and environments; 3) Leading, managing, and executing projects to include cost estimation, scoping projects, and developing schedules; 4) Interfacing and collaborating with diverse teams to deliver products; 5) Modeling and simulation of Electronic Warfare threats; 6) Developing tactical and strategic plans and executing to the plans. Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:
08XX:
Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above). Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.

Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
