You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN/NETWORK) of HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND.

Duties

You will manage IT resources and engineer solutions/compromises to meet equipment and monetary shortfalls. You will identify shortfalls, engineering solutions and assessing follow-on impacts of proposed configuration, policy, procedural and network architecture changes. You will oversee and provide engineering assistance for all Global Command and Control System upgrades and installations. You will develop long range plans for technical refresh of network infrastructure, growth of the Global Command and Control Common Operation Picture architecture to meet operational requirements.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector utilizing a mastery of advanced IT Principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices sufficient to accomplish assignments related to all the Information systems that make up the Global Command and Control System (GCCS). Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Manage IT resources and engineer solutions/compromises to meet equipment and monetary shortfalls; 2) Identify shortfalls, engineering solutions and assessing follow-on impacts of proposed configuration, policy, procedural and network architecture changes; 3) Develop long range plans for technical refresh of network infrastructure, growth of the GCCS COP architecture to meet operational requirements, and overall life cycle management of USPACOM theater COP and related systems; and 4) Oversee and provide engineering assistance for all Global Command and Control System upgrades and installations.
