Duties
This position is located in the Operations and Academic Support Division, within the National Center for Credibility Assessment (NCCA) at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina.
As a STAFF OFFICER , this position provides administrative support to NCCA's daily operations and its academic support mission for the federal polygraph community. Duties encompass
- Database entry of student information and recording continuing education credit hours
- Maintaining and updating rosters, distributions lists, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Support for course scheduling and preparation of class rosters, name tags, diplomas, and other academic materials
- Responding to customer inquiries via telephone or email
- Preparation and dissemination of internal and external correspondence or other communications
- Records management support
Position also backs up other staff officers at NCCA and performs other administrative duties as assigned.

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.
You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade (GS/ GG- 09) in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility.
Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Maintaining strong administrative and data entry skills, with attention to detail in their work.
Multi-tasking, and prioritizing work to meet deadlines.
Demonstrating effective communications skills.
Utilization of customer service skills with a focus on customer satisfaction and responding to customers in a timely, professional manner.
Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies:

2. Clerical- Knowledge of filing, typing, entering data, maintaining records, taking shorthand, and using and completing forms.
3. Education
If substituting education for experience at the GG-11 level, you must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher graduate education leading to such a degree, OR LL.M., if related.
If substituting or combining education for experience, transcripts MUST be provided. Failure to provide transcripts will result in you being rated ineligible for this position.
