About the Position:
Serve as the Security Specialist for the Security Programs of the Headquarters and select Assistant Directors and Field Offices of the Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division (DACID), responsible for managing the full range of security programs within CID.
The position is located in Quanitico, VA.
Duties
Ensure all assigned personnel have the proper background check and access to handle the appropriate level of classified or sensitive information.
Maintain liaison with stakeholders as well as other agencies in order to resolve personnel security matters.
Perform periodic inspections of offices, facilities, and/or programs.
Provide guidance on safeguarding, marking, transmitting, and destroying of classified and unclassified materials.
Oversee the security education program for office personnel.
Develop classified system processing policies and guidelines.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance.
- This position has been identified as a Testing Designated Position. The employee must submit to pass a drug test prior to appointment and is subject to random drug testing thereafter.
- Business travel is up to 20% of the time.
- This position requires access to classified information. Incumbent of the position will be required to complete a Standard Form (SF) 312, Classified Information Nondisclosure Agreement (NDA).
- This position requires the employee to obtain Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within two years of employment.

One year of specialized experience which includes assist senior specialists with the processing of security background checks; provide security training such as: personnel security, physical security, information security, industrial security; inspect facilities, offices and/or programs to ensure compliance with regulations; and resolve a variety of security issues involving conflicting requirements.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
