You will serve as a Public Affairs Specialist of NAVSUP WEAPON SYSTEMS SUPPORT.
Duties
You will plan, coordinate and facilitate strategic change communications; developing major written materials, reports, articles, graphics, social media posts and other materials.
You will plan for and is involved in developing a variety of audiovisual products for the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Enterprise.
You will develop and write policies to support execution of Command strategic communications plans; as well as public affairs support requirements and strategic
communications calendars for each plan.
You will identify, coordinate, and supervise the design, development, and production of print and multimedia products tailored to the specific needs of targeted audiences (e.g. fact sheets, brochures, pamphlets, web-based products, and CDs/DVDs).
Requirements

Qualifications
FOR GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Advising the Public Affairs Officer, and Command leadership, on information strategy, policy formulation, and the most effective methods for educating, informing, and promoting awareness, understanding and support for command missions, programs, and activities among the general public and pertinent internal and external audiences;
Planning and executing of Strategic Communications, Media Relations, Command Information, and Visual Information and Community Relations activities necessary to inform the work force, general and specialized publics, national and international news media representatives, governmental and non-governmental agency personnel, and various other stakeholders;
Performing routine public affairs functions which contribute to the public information, command information, and community relations missions (i.e. setting up interviews with various media outlets;
Researching, writing, coordinating, and implementing comprehensive short and long-term strategic communications plans in support of Command policies, programs, and initiatives.
FOR GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Planning, coordinating and facilitating strategic change communications; developing major written materials, reports, articles, graphics, social media posts and other materials;
Researching and recommending events for achieving communications goals; preparing and executing separate action plans for all events associated with each plan; and integrating plans into higher headquarters and subordinate units for execution;
Performing routine public affairs functions which contribute to the public information, command information, and community relations missions (i.e. setting up interviews with various media outlets; escorting media; writing stories for publications; and fielding community requests for speakers, honor guards, or volunteers to assist with community projects);
Advising and assisting staff planners and other assigned public affairs personnel within the Command on development of specialized strategies, communication campaigns, and associated communication products.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
GS 11:
- Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree: OR
- 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR
- LL.M., if related
