You will serve as a PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the Command Staff of NSSM.

Duties

You will write, edit, and submit articles about the NSA mission and personnel achievements for Commander Navy Region Mid-Atlantic (CNRMA)/Commander Naval Installations Command (CNIC)/NAVY-wide publication. You will establish and maintain effective working relationships with Public Affairs Officers from tenant commands You will serve as webmaster/administrator and content manager of the command's public web and social media sites in accordance with current Navy directives

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Interpreting public affairs policies and instructions; 2) Maintaining official websites, social media accounts, and/or content management systems for public affairs information dissemination; 3) Writing speeches, news articles, and/or briefs to disseminate information; 4) Coordinating internal personnel and resources for participation in community relations events ; 5) Develop and manage departmental budget.
