About the position: This is a RFT (full-time) position located at the NAF HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICE Joint Base Langley-Eustis VA - Ft Eustis location. Position is guaranteed 35 hours per week.
Duties
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides recruitment and placement service to NAF activities; receive requests to fill vacant positions, preparing/forwarding lists of applicants, arranging for interviews, and maintaining applicant supply tiles through the use of USA Staffing. Ensures required documents arc complete accurate. Processes and tracks status of security checks to include installation records checks, state criminal history repository checks, national agency checks and all other investigations/checks as dictated by current policy and procedure. Works closely with CBIC, ensuring appropriate investigations are submitted and follows-up on status. Develops local adjudication packages and processes according to current policy and procedures. Conducts orientation for new employees on insurance benefits, unemployment compensation, social security benefits, retirement, and other programs applicable to NAF employees. Explains pay systems, differentials, hours of work, etc., and other aspects of NAF employment. Participates in job fairs and other recruitment avenues identified by supervisor, representing the 733 Force Support Squadron and providing information on mission and vacancies. Provides guidance. technical support counseling, and information to employees and supervisors on FECA, awards, health and life insurance, retirement and unemployment benefits. Answers inquiries concerning status of pending actions. When necessary, contacts employee, supervisor or medical personnel to explain documentation needs. Ensures these programs are administered IA W regulations and information is accurately captured, and all documents are signed by appropriate individuals. Notifies Ground Safety Office of lost-time accidents. Accurately maintains personnel records and files, to Include but not limited to, Official Personnel Folders, tracking spreadsheets, position control registers, office files, etc. Forwards timely and accurate copies of records for administrative and pay purposes to other offices as required. Computes rates or pay on all increases (pay adjustments and step increases) for employees in activities serviced to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Monitors suspense files and processes actions in a timely manner to include, but not limited to Accessions, Separations, Within Grade Increases, Probationary Period Actions, etc., u1ilizing the automated NAF personnel data system and other systems used to support NAF personnel management program. Prepares, in final form, the full range of personnel actions. Follows up with appropriate sources on missing information/documents for programs of responsibility. Provides training to employees and supervisors on programs of responsibility via avenues such as Newcomer's Orientation, HR Management Course. organizational briefings, and other methods, as appropriate. Assists employees with various leave benefits, i.e., Annual Leave, Sick Leave, LWOP, FMLA, etc,, ensuring they have information needed to submit appropriate forms correctly. Processes service and retirement awards, ensuring proper certificates arc developed and signed, and provided to supervisors for issuance 10 employees. Maintains files IAW current policy and procedures. May research and download forms and publications and post updates to directives. Develops and maintains Continuity Book with all current policy, procedures, and contacts for use by other staff, as required. Assists HR Officer and HR Specialist with special projects. Operates a computer terminal and word processing equipment. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- Successful completion of a Tier 3 (Secret) background investigation is required.

Qualifying Experience:
Applicant must have experience in responsible clerical or office work in which the applicant demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily at 1he pay band level of the position. Experience must have been sufficiently demanding to demonstrate ability to perform at this pay band level. In addition, experience that required the applicant to acquire and apply knowledge of the rules. regulations, procedures, and program requirements of one or more areas of a personnel system is required. Knowledge of office automation software (MS Windows, MS Office, including PowerPoint, Word, Access, and Excel) is required. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Successful completion of a Tier 3 (Secret) background investigation is required.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
