About the Position: This position is located at the US Army Dental Activity at Fort Eustis, Virginia. Fort Eustis, VA is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach.
Duties
Serve as a Human Resources Assistant for a Dental Activity (DENTAC) performing administrative and technical work supporting military and civilian human resources programs, operations, and functions
Utilizes various HR database systems and hardware components to accomplish functions of position.
Provides guidance and assistance to organization and clinic staff as required.
Initiates, processes and tracks personnel actions including record updates, assignments/reassignments, contingency operations, awards, and strength management.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position may require travel away from duty station (TDY) 5%. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) developing comprehensive tracking systems for evaluations and awards; 2) consolidating and distributing information for personnel through Human Resource channels; and 3) initiating and reviewing personnel actions within the organization for civilian and/or military personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05)
