About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Army Forces Command, III Corps Senior Command Aug G-2 Security, Fort Cavazos, TX 76544.

Duties

Serves as the Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Program Manager, planning and performing Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security management functions in all security disciplines. Manages and monitors all security actions and procedures of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities; investigating SCI security incidents, preparing reports, and implementing recommendations. Provides expert advice to III Armored Corps and its MSCs on Special Security Office (SSO) policy and procedures. Serves as the Special Security Representative (SSR) for the Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF). Manages the database associated with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Access.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must perform temporary duty (TDY) travel throughout CONUS and OCONUS up to 25% of the time. Must obtain and maintain current passport and immunization records for foreign travel.
  • Must have valid motor vehicle operators license in order to operate vehicle during TDY travel.
  • During crisis or from tasking, may be required to work overtime or irregular shifts.
  • This is a Key Position under the provisions of AR 690-11. Prior to occupying the position, must be exempted from recall to active duty because of Reserve or retired military obligations.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.

Specialized experience is defined as: administering and implementing Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Sensitive Compartmented Information facilities (SCIFs) in compliance with policy and procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11). Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
