The Office of Aerospace Medicine (AAM) develops and manages medical programs in support of Aviation Safety. The Regional Augmentation Team (RAT) supports the Office of Aerospace Medicine (AAM) regional program efforts and other AAM efforts in the performance of AAM employee’s primary duties, including preparation for and response to public health events affecting the aviation industry.

Duties

Is a recognized subject matter expert in program operations planning and provides leadership for highly complex and challenging activities under the minimal direction of a manager or executive. May act as a principal analyst to evaluate, analyze, and develop new and innovative approaches, methodologies, and/or techniques or as a team leader to define and direct challenging projects/programs/activities. Shares responsibility for the performance of programs/projects that frequently affect more than one LOB/SO or the FAA as a whole.

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents).
  • Designated or Random Drug Testing required.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.

Reference OPMs Group coverage Qualification Standard for Administrative and Management Positions.TO QUALIFY AT THE FV-J (FG/GS-14/15) level you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-I (FG/GS-13) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE includes analyzing, interpreting and explaining the impact of emergency plans/programs, policies, procedures on an organization; developing schedules, coordinating, and managing projects and resources; leading large project/program teams; defining and developing internal policies and procedures; predicting potential issues and proposing preventive actions.ANDQUALITY RANKING FACTOR (QRF): Well qualified candidates will possess knowledge of transportation emergency response methods, practices, and standards and/or procedures related to the multi-modal networks of transportation systems.
