This position is located in the Chief Information Officer Organization (CIOO), under the Chief Data Officer Staff (CDOS), and is responsible for providing assistance and advice on data management issues to application development project teams, the client community and Division of Information Technology (DIT) personnel.

Duties
Participates in the analysis, design and development of enterprise information management services and capabilities, including: Conceptual/Logical data model design, data integration and consolidation, data architecture creation, analysis and evaluation of data and information requirements for new applications, and data security and access consultation with development staff.
Coordinates the support and development of data design, management and implementation services, and documentation as outlined in the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for assigned development projects.
Participates in application systems development projects ensuring compliance with Corporate data standards, data architecture and Data Sharing objectives.
Performs in-depth studies and analyses to determine technological impact resulting from adoption of approved information systems standards. Initiates necessary corrective actions to comply with standards.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Specialized Experience: To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-12 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as developing data dictionaries, data models, and metadata repositories to facilitate data retrieval generating queries from databases/sources; OR creating data governance documents and processes that support discoverability, business needs, and privacy/security; OR participating in data-focused technology projects.

You must have Information Technology (IT)-related experience which demonstrates proficiency in each of the following competencies:

• Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
