This position is located in Information Technology, Government Publishing Office in Washington, District of Columbia.
Duties
Serve as an assistant and advisor to the GPO CISO in the areas of access control security, security operations, security evaluation, management and configuration security Infrastructure for all GPO program areas and support organizations.
Provide leadership and day-to-day line management of the IT Security Division for all aspects of the division's responsibilities and operations.
Responsible for ensuring that the Divisions services are delivered to GPO internal users (all employees and affiliates/contractors) and GPO customers and business partners (external parties to GPO).
Oversee the development, maintenance, and testing of the GPO IT Security Program and the GPO IT Security Program Statement of Policy and obtains the CISO approval forward through GPO senior management for promulgation.
Establish business process continuance plans to maximize systems availability; ensures timely, effective responses to system failures; and monitors and tests contingency planning processes/procedures

Basic Requirements
This standard allows eligibility through meeting either the requirements specified in the section titled Education or the requirements specified in the section titled Experience.
Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited
institutions.
Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information
science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology
management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields
identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
Experience:
Individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

Specialized Experience:
you must have at least one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the PG-13) grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
(1) Conduct IT security research sufficient to plan, develop and coordinate IT security program and strategies. (2) Formulate IT security program initiatives in response to critical IT security issues. (3) Plan and coordinate implementation of IT security defense strategies to protect the IT infrastructure. (4) Perform infrastructure project management, system security certification and accreditation requirements and processes; and ensure coordination and collaboration on security activities.
